I am in total solidarity with the Venezuelan people in their struggle for human rights, civil liberties, democratic self government and the establishment of the rule of law. With this resolution, the United States Congress is telling the people of Venezuela that we stand shoulder to shoulder with them and their efforts to assure that their country does not go down the failed path of authoritarianism."
